What is Flavorist?

Flavorist is an FLV-player created in C#.Net and Adobe Flash. It plays FLV-movies, the format YouTube and other Flash-based movie players uses.

It can also convert movies from FLV to other formats, this function is powered by FFmpeg.

Can it play DivX/Xvid/Whatever?

No, it can only play Flash Video (*.flv).

Which formats can I convert movies to?

You can convert to any format supported by FFmpeg, the software Flavorist uses for converting movies. By using the Advanced-mode in the convert-dialog you can use any attribute supported by FFmpeg. To find out which formats that's supported, open a command prompt in the ffmpeg-folder where you installed Flavorist and type ffmpeg -formats.

You can read more in the FFmpeg Documentation, which can be found here:

FFmpeg Documentation

The converting-dialog looks... incomplete?

The current version of Flavorist is only an alpha-version and only supports Advanced-mode in the converting-dialog. This is because I havn't decided which formats that should be standard in Normal-mode. Please post your favourite combinations in the forums!

Will there be some integration with YouTube in the future?

Probably not. I don't think Google (who owns YouTube) wants people to download the contents from YouTube.

How much adware, spyware and viruses are included?

None actually. All software created by Arood Online is free from all kinds of crap, like adware, spyware and viruses. However, I still recommend that you have an anti-spyware and anti-virus software installed on computer if our files would get infected in some way.
